Apr 21, 2009 - My goodness. You guys are comparing a rehearsed scene on some movie about already created pieces from chopin to a Improv jazz battle. Those pieces weren't even full they were more excerpts. This battle was very beautiful. I improv myself and it usually comes out dark so I could really relate to the improv and their favorite keys they use. But I noticed zygel was more along the lines of playing along with him and actually getting his themes/melodies down. I would vote for zygel towards-

Apr 21, 2009 - Zygels methods and tactics towards the end.Gonzales kept changing the theme and being a jerk about it. (my opinion) Zygel started out a little too high for the audience to understand. That was trance music at first. but gonzales brought in some little catchy hooks for the audience to eat. But zygel is very on it I say. I would have to listen to this a few more times but from my glance. Zygel was battling everything he got at him. And Gonzales is very tricky. LIke a snake lol

Apr 21, 2009 - I would like to see them battle with an audience that actually knows a little bit about music, writing music and improving.

Dec 20, 2009 - I just laughed my ass off!In the end, the very last seconds there is an interview starting. The interviewer says: "Right, the artists..." when Gonzo interrupts her by saying: "we are no artists! we are athletes!"He is like "Damn you! You didn't understand the concept of the whole evening, Moron!" :D

TheJoshy1992 Says:
Apr 4, 2010 - my underlining question is, can you play the jay chou piano battle?
Criticalperspective2 Says:
Jun 10, 2010 - They play on the same piano. Thus, they can see what each other's hand. It would have been more interesting to test their ability to hear and thus improvise on two different pianos.

Jan 3, 2009 - They might have practiced some of the licks they used, but it's not arranged. The Jay Chou piano battle was HIGHLY arranged and planned. These two players didn't sit down and discuss what they would plan. I'm a fan of Jay Chou, but its useless comparing this with the piano battle.
