Dec 30, 2011 - At 22:58, Vimean was so brave to say the word "Thowk Teap" to Chivorn's behavior. Thowk means cheap and Teap equals the lowest cast in the society. Vimean could get in big trouble with most men, but Chivorn refrane himself when emotion reached high. The word "Thowk Teap" seems strong considering the hate-and-love relationship between the two. I would be surprised if the two become a couple. In my two cents, Khmer actors are among the best in expressing emotion, great job to all. Happy New Year!

WangXiangu Says:

Dec 30, 2011 - @SomKarona: That scene made me wonder if Vimean and Chivorn have some history that predates the beginning of the show (that is, an earlier, failed relationship), or if something happened offscreen--or both. I also doubt they'll become a couple, but I'm not sure Vimean wants to be in a relationship with Naroth, either. She enjoys his company and might be attracted to him, but I think she enjoys her identity as a smart, unattached young woman focused on her education and career.

CrazyBarang Says:

Dec 30, 2011 - Like buffalo father like buffalo son. They've both been evil since episode 1. Wish Vimean had given Chivorn a good 'ole knee to the groin.

CrazyBarang Says:

Dec 30, 2011 - thank you so much for that. I'm working so hard at learning Khmai, but they speak so quickly, and my ear is still very slow. What is the word that she says just before "thowk teap"? A pronoun I don't know, maybe. Sounded a little like "pineapple".

dssmonoka Says:

Dec 30, 2011 - CrazyBarang : she said "monous thowk teap" and monous = person/human

SomKarona Says:

Dec 30, 2011 - : Hehehe! you have a great insight in this drama. For a Cambodian woman to say such a damaging word "Thowk Teap" to men, any man, some bad blood must have to happen. I rarely heard that word from Cambodian women. I hope Vimean would emerge as a strong independent woman differentiates herself from the perception that most Cambodian women rely on men for a living. Great comment, by the way,....lolz!

WangXiangu Says:

Dec 30, 2011 - @SomKarona: Thanks! I love analyzing the characters and their motives, and trying to fit them into what I know about Cambodian history and culture. Vimean and Chivorn have had a rocky relationship since her first day at Sok Monkol Productions in Ep 1. He seemed to despise her on sight, and he kept making nasty remarks about her to Sros and other co-workers ("She's cheap," "Don't trust her," etc.). She kept him at arm's length and called him by the formal "lok" instead of "bang." (More.)

WangXiangu Says:

Dec 30, 2011 - So he's gone from "lok" to "thowk teap." It will be interesting to see how this love triangle develops. I like Naroth and Vimean together. They have nice chemistry, and he seems like a good person (a good person whose intentions are always misread by those of weaker character, like Chivorn and Monkol). I do hope she chooses to stay single, though.

SomKarona Says:

Dec 30, 2011 - At 22:51, Vimean said "Monus Akrok" described a man who commited dirty act. The subtitle says "Maniac". translates to "Momus Chkourt". Momus Chkourt did not know what they are doing. In this case, Chivorn knows what he is doing. I would describe Chiworn's act as barbaric or coward. Since barbaric seems strong of a word, I have little choice but chosing coward "Monus Komsak". It seems best fit Chivorn's act...just my two cents...there are more than one way to clean a cat.

WangXiangu Says:

Dec 30, 2011 - Agreed. I think Vimean took his full measure in that scene and found him severely wanting. Chivorn is charming and likable on some levels, but he's not trustworthy. Monkol isn't charming or likable on any level, and he's anything but trustworthy. And where would Chivorn be right now if Vimean hadn't thrown pepper on the gangsters in Ep. 17, and Ratana hadn't bailed him out in this ep? It seems like the men need the women more than the women need the men.

CrazyBarang Says:

Dec 30, 2011 - Don't forget he was also rescued by Sros, a great human being, but who in the eyes of some, wouldn't be considered to be the "manliest" of men. I'm loving the girl power in this show. Vimean more than anyone, I guess. That poor actor though, had to play Dara in the last show, who was affable, lovable, but an idiot, and now this guy:)

SomKarona Says:

Dec 30, 2011 - Somphors is a flirty teenager and she is good at it. At 13:34, she says "Ber min srolang kyom kom tver laor dak kyom", "If you don't love me, don't be kind to me". This seems to be a weak argument for her missunderstanding about Naroth as a gengleman. She told Chivorn that Natoth "cheated me" at 16:30. It's seems to be an overly drama to me. If this one of the big reasons most Cambodian men seem to treat Khmer women poorly? Hmmmmm...good topic for a forum...lolz!

SomKarona Says:

Dec 30, 2011 - You read my mind. I like to see Vimean to become a leading charator, a strong business woman, perhaps. Nothing wrong with enjoying a company of a gentlemen like Naroth. It would be interesting to see if the writer even develop a scene of Vimean making love to Naroth, and then dump him as a sophisicated and hightly educated independence young woman...That would teach Cambodian men a lession for most likely cheated on girls...*laugh*

WangXiangu Says:

Dec 30, 2011 - Yes, I found myself cringing when Samphors described her misunderstanding with Naroth. Because she wasn't specific about the nature of the so-called cheating, Chivorn suspected the worst (and we saw Monkol make the same mistake in an earlier ep). Also, if Samphors is serious about her acting career, I hope she'll learn to treat her relationship with Naroth as a strictly professional and forget about guys until she's more mature. I also think Ratana needs to have a talk with her about men.

Dec 30, 2011 - its getting better and better

korm0043 Says:

Dec 31, 2011 - Its kinda weird this episode. For example, Naroth didn't cheat on Somphos. Also, it was not the good time that Chivon confessed his love to Vimean, and it was no romantic at all. if u guys agree with me?

oudannetteY Says:

Dec 31, 2011 - next episode, please?

WangXiangu Says:

Dec 31, 2011 - Ohh, I hope we can get the next ep before the New Year! (We still have 18 hours to go in the US northeast!)

Kmffan Says:

Jan 3, 2012 - I love this episode, especially the part where Naroth confessed his love for Vimean. I can watch this episode over and over again.

Lovetruth007 Says:

Jan 20, 2012 - I do agree with u. It should not be the time Naroth confessed love to Vimean in such situation when Samphors and Chivoin were there.
