Description:
"Weekend in New England" is a song written by Randy Edelman, and released by Barry Manilow on his 1976 album This One's For You. The song was released as a single in 1976, reaching the #1 spot on the U.S. Adult Contemporary chart and #10 on the Billboard Hot 100. It is a classic example of Manilow's popular style of big ballad, including a romantic theme, swelling orchestration and a dramatic finish. The Reba McEntire song, "Whoever's in New England," is seen by many as an answer song to "Weekend In New England", as sung by the wife of a philandering husband who has an ongoing affair with someone in New England. This song was also recorded by John Barrowman on his 2007 album Another Side.In 2007, the song was recorded by Filipino pop/R&B singer Nina for the repackaged version of her self-titled album. It was not released, but was performed in some of her TV guestings.

May 18, 2012 - I was dating my wife when this song came out. She lived in new England and I in LA. I tried to see her on every trip to London or NY. Then I heard this song on the plane, and it symbolized our dating. I married her. Best decision ever. Guys don't ever give up on someone you love.
