Sep 19, 2011 - absolutely, you'll have to press down harder though so it will seem alot harder, but practice makes perfect!

Oct 17, 2011 - How on earth do you guys get the thin E string clean with this grip? I can't seem to get it clean, and the grip also very straining on the hand, any tips on how to achieve this with a "looser" grip?

Dec 2, 2011 - Great lesson, I was playing around with thumb over chord technique, as per video, with finger 3 taking strings 4&5, eventually got it after a couple of hours struggling with it, then it occurred to me I could do that on a standard e shaped barre chord, using your technique to take 5 and 4 with one finger work seems to with standard barre and still free up finger 4, ie a 3 finger E shape barre, 1 for barre 2 for shape. Are there any advantages of thumb over. Any thoughts ??

Feb 13, 2012 - I have that problem too! I guess its just a matter of practicing? I also have the problem that my 3rd finger mutes the 2nd, really annoyin, have to FOCUS alot for it not to mute the 2nd :[

Feb 14, 2012 - Even though I already knew this technique, watching your video inspired me to explore it further and i learnt some crazy stuff. Thanks! Don't drop the funk!

Feb 22, 2012 - His little finger is so dextrous it can undress the ladies.

fcoll9123 Says:

Feb 27, 2012 - I'm not very experienced and this is very hard for me to do. I can't seem to get my first finger flat over the high e and b string and my second and third fingers are muting the strings underneath them. Can anyone tell me how long it takes to get this down?

Lkanna25 Says:

Feb 27, 2012 - @fcoll9123 It takes about 15 minutes a day for as long as it takes you. Just don't give up on it! Very cool videos though helped me out a lot with ideas for random rhythm parts. Hendrix is the greatest and this is how we keep him alive today. Thanks!

Mar 27, 2012 - Justin you are an amazingly talented guitarist, and a very effective teacher, but the embedded adverts in these videos make it nearly impossible to download many of them. I do intend to buy your DVD lessons, but would have liked to also download these free ones as well. The adverts put paid to that hope, because with a slower link like mine, it takes forever to see the "skip adverts" option. I recorded some of those ads while trying to record your lessons, and had to repeat the whole process.

Mar 27, 2012 - c'mon dude... you 'intend' to buy my DVDs... of course you are different and plan to buy them all... but if I had a sale for every time I heard that one... At least let me scrape a couple of cents from the ad to fund lots more free vids... don't you think that is a better option?

riverbankfisher Says:

Mar 27, 2012 - Well yeah, I only recently discovered your work, and I do intend to make a buy. I spoke of that plan to buy because your product is of great value to me, as it is to many others worldwide, and I saw no harm mentioning my intention to support your work by making a purchase. If making this pledge sounds insincere, then I do apologise. You are right too, that I have no business complaining about the small inconvenience of the ads, considering the benefits we all gain from your superb lessons.

Apr 27, 2012 - THESE HENDRIX LESSONS ARE PERFECT !!

deadfalcon2 Says:

May 13, 2012 - When you're soloing over the progression do you use the scale of the tonic chord or are you constantly changing to suit the chords.

a2g7olson Says:

May 22, 2012 - Thanks for the lesson Justin (and Jimi). Finally, bar chords aren't boring anymore

slckestbeast Says:

May 22, 2012 - did you feel like your hands were just too small to do this stuff at the beginning? I'm playing on my SG, and while I'm able to reach all the notes, being nimble and agile enough to play around with it properly will take a while.
