Title: How People (Generally) Treat Me in Japan
Added: Sep 25, 2011

Description:
My Blog: http://saitamaflowers.blogspot.com/1/31/12*** I have turned off comments for this video because there has been too much disrespectful behavior going on and I don't feel like moderating it. This YT channel is mine, and I want it to be a positive place for people looking for info. I will not let it become a forum for racists and other people not worth my time.***I was half-asleep in this video...but here are some Off-the-top, sometimes incoherent thoughts about my experiences in terms of how people treat me in Japan, lol (..as a VISITOR ie, someone who has been here for a few months to maybe a few years). Now, I am planning on staying for quite a while, so I will have to do a video about the difference between visiting and living...because there is one. But basically, people are kind, so don't be afraid of coming to visit ^^I'd say this video was also more about Mainland and not Okinawa**P.S: I think I was eating something before I recorded this...so sorry for the super awkwardness that produced LOL*****

Jan 25, 2012 - @TheCouncilMusicGroup Most people (especially in America) who consider themselves black can only tie their ancestry to slavery. They aren't African-American. So are you stating an obvious thing here or trying to be negative to a sad history of disenfranchised people who will most likely never know where they came from?

Jan 27, 2012 - The thing about random strangers touching your hair sounds incredibly inappropriate to me. What about personal space? It's rude to just go up to someone you don't know and act like you're best friends. Hell, even my best friends don't touch my hair randomly.
Datsizer Says:
Jan 27, 2012 - Incorrect my good friend.. term comes from the Black Panthers!! Think about this??? you ask any higher middle class African American scholar,,, they say African American... ask any lower class who's struggled... they say black because it stood for power back in the day!! its a pride thing...

Jan 27, 2012 - Its no big deal this is life and this is the way the world turns theres many other countrys that react the same way !
vliesboy Says:
Jan 28, 2012 - I'm white and proud of it. Just thought I'd chuck that so that people can examine how they feel when reading a white person say it. Is my race still considered to be the most racist?Am I allowed to shout "white power" in public, I really want to start doing that, lol.
Tritano Says:
Jan 28, 2012 - DO IT! the constitution protects ur right :-) it must be frustrating. however, u do understand given world history wherein blacks have been exploited 4 100's of years what "white power" implies, no? in fact, it's white power that makes that statement racist. the truth is, friend, the conflict is class. race is the metaphor, right? so do it especially in a black or poor neighborhood n then come back n tell us what happened.
Tritano Says:
Jan 28, 2012 - curious, why do you use "sad"? i think "violent" or "triumphant" is more applicable, don't you? to mark sadness doesn't allow for the fullness of the truth; it doesn't highlight the progression from virtual imprisonment to the presidency, from being nameless faceless commodities to Oprah and Colin and Condoleeza. Also, I think it's safe to say that African Americans are from West Africa, yet, now, they must represent a new race, simply American. Thoughts?
THEGREATMIAH777 Says:
Jan 28, 2012 - racism is a human problem, every race has racist ppl lol but i wouldnt advise you to run around saying that nor would i advice a black dude to run around black power.
haitipi Says:
Jan 28, 2012 - Obviously. 80-90% of American Blacks, now, come from West African tribes, mostly from Sierra Leone, Ghana, Nigeria,Dahomy (Benin) etc. Yet, it is fashionable to adopt Swahili words (Est African people who traditionally hated West African Tribes), Southern African Causes, and Central African Holiday Names.(Kwaanza)
haitipi Says:
Jan 28, 2012 - To the maker of this Video, I am White and have traveled to 72 countries. I have had my Blondish hair touched by people all over Asia, the Caribbean and Africa who normally don't see White People. The Kids are not being racist but honestly curious.I asked, and they thought that it would feel like glass. Most 'ignorant' comments, but not meant to be racist or mean, come out of people nice enough to want to talk to you. And they want to know about you. Remember,Japan is not the USA and are not PC
Dedicatedtotruth1 Says:
Jan 28, 2012 - @vliesboy You don't have to say white power, its would be bragging because we know whites have the power. You have to you black and proud just to maintain confidence, after being denied a job because of the color of your skin..

Jan 28, 2012 - @TheCouncilMusicGroup , one is what one has to defend.
