Dec 4, 2011 - That fat looking bloke was the vampire from Thirst, was he not? I dunno, I thought this film was kinda disappointing, its not HALF as shocking or controversial as they said it was in magazines and reviews. They were like "You've never seen anything as dark and depraved as this", "The most violent film ever concieved" etc. Obviously these people had never seen Ichi the Killer, or all the other films that are way more shocking than this. Mr Vengeance was also pretty tame, but clever, at times.

Dec 26, 2011 - you're kidding me right? this film is disappointing because it doesn't make use of cheap scare and gore tactics? you have completely missed the point of the movie. it is not about depravity, controversy or violence - it goes so much deeper than that. If you're looking for cheap violence instead of true cinematic quality, I suggest you look somewhere else.

Jan 23, 2012 - Once again, Lee Young Ae and Song Kang Ho act together again in the same movie after the last time they act together was in 'Joint Security Area', though in this scene Kang Ho just a cameo appearance and no spoken dialogue with Young Ae...

Feb 22, 2012 - Go watch Saw XXXVI or something else that's just brainless gorn. You're watching the wrong movies if that's your standard - this here's for people who like *good*, quality movies.

Feb 22, 2012 - No thanks I cant stand bullshit like Hostel and Saw. Actually, I'd consider myself an connoisseur when it comes to movies. I've seen pretty much all of this directors films, most of Miikes, Kurosawa's, Kitano's, and a lot of other asian cinema, and in terms of western films, I've seen pretty much ALL the "best quality" examples of the last 40 years. Just because I dont like THIS film, you think I dont like "*good*, quality movies"?You seen my list? Dont make me laugh.

johnfreyan Says:

Feb 29, 2012 - Lol... of course you cite Miike, Kurosawa, and Kitano when you want to talk about "*Asian* Cinema" (hint: What do those three directors you cite have in common?). The fact that you cited "its not HALF as shocking or controversial as they said it was in magazines and reviews" as the reason for "I thought this film was kinda disappointing" is why you're the type of viewer who saw "Audition" and thought 'the first 3/4 was really boring, but that needle scene was SICK, man!'.
