Oct 1, 2011 - to add, i think it is less linux and more open source and open licensed technology, linux, bsd, open solaris etc.but i think since vista Microsoft has been borrowing heavily from open source as well.remember vista demos an identical looking solaris looking glass project (3d desktop interface) for vista.never made it into vista.probably because they couldn't get round the more open liscesing.and the system overhead for that particular inefficent os would have been crazy.
