Apr 5, 2012 - this IS power metal to a degree, but the genre has now expanded in to sub-genre's much like Death metal. now bands that use a lot of orchestrations get labeled Epic or symphonic power metal so they not labeled in the same category as the basic power metal bands like: Sonata Arctica and Stratovarius. Old School Bands Like Metal Church, Reverend, and Nevermore are NOT power metal -they're just metal. those bands have a much to raw and heavy guitar and vocal sound to be labeled as power metal,
