By July 1858 one month after Natural Selection, Charles Darwin's two-thirds complete long version of the species theory, was 'interrupted'--as Darwin wrote in his diary--by receiving Wallace's short but conceptually identical paper, Darwin had regrouped and began to write the Origin of Species as an abstract of his theory. After its epoch making publication in November 1859, Darwin paid little attention to the original manuscript even though his many crossing outs and insertions show he had struggled to find just the right way to express himself. He and his children used the manuscript for scrap and drawing paper. Only 42 full pages are known to have survived and these have scattered to libraries and collectors in Britain and America--the largest trove eventually coming to Cambridge University Library through Darwin's children.What we present here is a digital reassembly of the surviving leaves. Readers of the Origin know that one of the most intriguing, and most metaphysically engaged chapters is the 6th, on 'Difficulties'. May 17, 2010 - Darwin gave us a THEORY... thus far it has proved to be virtually irrefutable. god people can cry, howl, scream and throw all their toys out of their buggies for a billion years, they will not change the science that proves them at best misguided, at worse vile, bigoted & mindless. They will however, move goalposts to accomodate, reappraise monotheism to make it fit again, and swear black is white where once white was black .. again... give up your god, it's nonsense.

Jun 8, 2010 - 1, 2. The Liger is a poor example. Both tigers and lions are in the same Family. Of course they can produce a hybrid. And evolution exists inside Families or species. But it is completly false when you try say that diffirent groups come from commen ancestors. Try and produce a hybrid with a dog and a cat. There are certain boudaries in nature that can't be ignored just to accept a "theory". 3. This is not an explanation why we don't have a tail or a fur. 4. It is not a lie, it's a fact.

Of course changes happen inside a species, that is why there are so many kinds. I disagree that evolution is one big tree. Each Family of species yes they have an evolutional tree. But monkeys are monkeys no matter how much they evolve, they will never be smtg else. Each group had a start -it was created.

That is also why we humans are of one kind. We were created as humans and did not evolve from another species, otherwise there would be apemen living today - as chimpanzees' co-exist with other monkeys. You need to see the larger picture not just parts of it. Your theories focus too much on certain aspects.

Evolutionists claim that these are facts supporting evolution because they want to see it that way. As for tails and webbed toes, they are unnatural. Usually caused by radiation. But does your argument truly prove that there isn't a creator ?

Most of the fossils said to be links between species(or families of species if you will) where frauds like the archaeopterix etc. Others where just de facto viewed as links. Of course species do become extict. God created dinosaurs, don't know which thought cause i wasn't there. We still have them here but in diffirent forms than in the past but still called reptiles.

Oct 27, 2010 - Crazy that people who put as much stock into evolution are so quick to condemn any theist as an idiot or someone who is just fooling themselves. Also crazy is the apparent willingness of overly religious (as opposed to faithful) people to completely discount the possibility that evolution COULD exist to some degree or another, and that God is responsible for it. Way too much closed mindedness for even the internet to handle.
