May 20, 2012 - Make sure guitar is in tune. If you're not sure, type in guitar tuning, and nundreds of helpful websites with sounds to use as references will come up. Another rookie mistake, to me anyways, is blocking a string that's supposed to ring. Make sure that you're not muting any strings while playing a chord. Hope this helped! :)
