Added: Jan 21, 2008
Author: HowardFair
Duration: 2:16
Description:
A sample of the locomotives around the turntable at the National Railway Museum in York, England. Check out my other videos of the museum. the Flying Scotsman was in pieces in a workshop when I was there, but these items are really just as fascinating if not as famous. Highlights for me are the Mallard and the broad guage Iron DukePlease rate and comment!

Jan 23, 2009 - Will Mallard ever Steam again? In my eyes the worlds fastest locomotive should be still in steam

Sep 14, 2009 - Why are so many YouTube entries saturated with irrelevant american music. What possible relevance is this dreary wining tune to a British Museum about trains. Why not have train noises etc as a background
HowardFair Says:
Sep 14, 2009 - Thanks for watching Jutescrim. I can't answer your first question, other than to say that if you don't like music just because it's "American," then you are missing out! Aaron Copeland to TuPac is a lot to dismiss as irrelevant!I can answer why I put the Woody Guthrie tune here--it's about mortality, the certainty of our passing out of existence. These exhibits are echos of the past, magnificent creations of people gone for ever, just as these locomotives won't take to rails again.

Nov 19, 2009 - I agree. Everything in this country has to have crap, unrelated musac blaring out. Every shop, pub, cafe, passing car, video and TV programme has it.I presume it's because the great British public have such vacuous brains they are unable to function if there is a moments peace and quiet.I expect there will be a lot of replies to this, if they are not all staring at their mobile phones.

Dec 15, 2009 - Miserable old people commenting on YouTube? For gods sake hurry up and die so we can be rid of you and your moaning.
strlder Says:
Dec 15, 2009 - There is such a thing as the " mute " button you know. Ah you probably do know! But just felt like having a moan anyway. Ugh
bbcisrubbish Says:
Dec 16, 2009 - You are obviously an example of what I mean.I have no desire to continue comments with you, vulgar fellow.
strlder Says:
Dec 16, 2009 - And you obviously live with your head up your arse. No desire to continue comments with me? The feeling is mutual you daft old trout. Good riddance to bad rubbish.
bbcisrubbish Says:
Dec 17, 2009 - You have, of course, by your vulgarity and use of obscene language, confirmed my opinion of you.Goodbye.
strlder Says:
Dec 17, 2009 - You must live a very sheltered life if words like " arse " upset you. Poor little fella.Goodbye.
