That of course doesn't excuse them, but it shouldn't be cause to say that we never should have been there in the first place. Think how bad it would be if Saddam was still in power? Dec 6, 2011 - The no fly zone was made ineffective when Saddam stratigicaly placed civilians at all the air targets as human shields. That is why we had to bring in the infantry. After that, Iraq was a piece of cake. We won the real war in about a month. Everything else has been strenuous police action.
