It's achieved by photographing each frame with a really long exposure (in this case, 5-15 seconds). No CGI on this.I didn't have a remote control, so I had to run back and forth to press the shutter release button and draw the designs with a little LED... in pitch black darkness. Then, I'd inch the car forward and do it all over again. Then a cop stopped to ask me what the heck I was doing at a gas station at 3am.
