Mar 26, 2012 - Actually, this video is not a joke. Water in the gutters? I'm assuming you are talking about the firefighters using the streams to push walls that were collapsing in on the fire and not out towards them...

DaveHernandezPhoto Says:

Mar 26, 2012 - This fire had spread 2 blocks rapidly. Water supply was an issue and had been for the other fires in the city that week. Residents opening hydrants and allowing their children to play were straining the system. Also, a hydrant located in between the warehouse and row homes had been vandalized and was rendered useless. Eventually a draft was established and water was brought in from the Delaware River.

Mar 26, 2012 - what state was this fire in this looks alot like a fire i saw on the news in baltimore

1906639 Says:

Mar 28, 2012 - Depending on the fire, and how much water is available, they use different amounts of water. In the beginning, they're using 1" hoses, whereas towards the end they're using 2 1/2" hose. As for the water in the gutters, I'm assuming you mean the water collecting on the road. That can also be reused. The pumpers and or tankers have vacuum hoses for such reasons.

Apr 13, 2012 - This looks like a war zone or something but great work filming and hats off to the fire fighters

Firefighter72BG Says:

Apr 14, 2012 - do they ever test the fire hydrants? we do it sometimes but mostly its some other department within the city

ffjsb Says:

Apr 15, 2012 - There are no 1" hoses being used in this video. Camden is an urban fire dept. and like most urban depts they don't carry hard suction (it's not vacuum hoses) or low level strainers. The water in the gutters is full of debris and is not a reliable source of water supply.

mrbribri1971 Says:

Apr 19, 2012 - how far was the river from the blaze ?

3034893118 Says:

Apr 26, 2012 - U know is their even anything in that building or is it just abandon? i am wondering if they should just of nock it down and contain the fire that way with so much going on their not really much in the way of containing this fire.

theapeman2004 Says:

May 9, 2012 - In my opinion, when fire fighters are dispatched to an abandon structure fire such as this, they shouldn't have to risk their lives for it, let it burn to the damn ground! These city governments need to start taking some responsibility and either tear down these structures that have been abandon for years or force the owners to do something with it, to prevent fires such as this from happening and endangering firefighters lives. One life is worth more then a building.

protectoroffaith Says:
