Sep 16, 2010 - I scoffed at the theory myself. But I just recently dug into declassified films and documentation concerning the US nuclear program and not only has the US developed micro-nukes but spent a lot of r and d on using nuclear detonations for construction/demolition purposes.

The fact that micro-nukes are in the US stockpile is a very low-key point as is the US looking into demolition jobs where nukes could be helpful.
