May 18, 2012 - The First Amendment is the right to free speech, not freedom of religion. Just sayin' ...

bill18286 Says:

May 18, 2012 - Ignore my last comment, it's wrong! Sorry ...

LomLom333 Says:

May 18, 2012 - "Congress shall make no law respecting an ESTABLISHMENT OF RELIGION, or prohibiting the FREE EXERCISE thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances"

BeefotronX Says:

May 18, 2012 - Science is one thing, theology is another thing. The reason they often seem to have so much friction is that science is about trying to deal as exclusively as possible in objective facts whereas theology involves precisely what science can say almost nothing about: areas of existence beyond the reach of our observational capability, and intelligent beings of immense power capable of outmaneuvering our ability to observe. Anything we think we know about that business is necessarily subjective.

piezoelectric100 Says:

May 19, 2012 - actually... "Amendment ICongress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances."just sayin'.

piezoelectric100 Says:

May 19, 2012 - the bible is what outlines what god wants. the thing is is that people take it too seriously and give religion a bad name.

piezoelectric100 Says:

May 19, 2012 - i know the theory of evolution, i was just mentioning the "monkey" thing because that is what uneducated society believes evolution is. and its not like god invented written language, people have had that for centuries. god just told his followers to record events.

SH10JogaBonito Says:

May 19, 2012 - Ok, if you meant it jokingly then I understand your original intention. I don't know where the god thing came from, if you truly understand evolution I don't understand how you could be religious. If you are referring to Jesus Christ, he was no more a god than anyone else.

satnutladias Says:

May 20, 2012 - Religions (particularly: Abrahamic ones) have been created by man's ability of imagination. But what's imagined, i mean religion, is, say, frozen and isn't wanted to be melted by questions. l mean that the religion's forzen image. The problem is "why religion not be questioned?" too, while all the other imaginations are easily questioned... l respect the religion, because of the fact that it's of imagination; l don't respect its frozen-ness.

sgt7 Says:

May 22, 2012 - wow dude lay off on making judgements about people who believe in a loving God. i have personally known many people who came to believe in a loving God and it simply made them more loving and less selfish. there are crazy people out there who are religious and crazy people who are atheist also. i use to be an atheist and i found that religious people and atheists alot of the time don't really understand each other.

quaternio Says:

May 22, 2012 - Someone may choose to become a better person, and they may use God as an excuse to exact that change. But believing doesn't make them better. How could it? It just doesn't follow. Good people may want to claim that there god makes them good, but their belief about god isn't really what makes them good. Likewise, being an atheist doesn't make a person good either.

sgt7 Says:

May 22, 2012 - i don't think you're qualified to make those judgements.

quaternio Says:

May 22, 2012 - So what you are saying is you are able judge me without knowing anything about me? And you completely ignore the fact that I explicitly said that I'm judging the beliefs themselves, not the people. You are a hypocrite. I may not be qualified to judge people, but I actually am qualified to describe their beliefs and to argue how they affect people (I have a degree in religious studies), which is all that I've done.

autodidact16 Says:

May 22, 2012 - so, so wise

seahorsemomma Says:

May 23, 2012 - This is one of the best videos I have ever seen!!!!

sgt7 Says:

May 23, 2012 - no, you are judging people and not their beliefs. you said they use god as merely an excuse for their change (implying this is necessary, when it's not). this refers to their motives not their beliefs. these people say believing a loving god changed their lives, i believe them. why on earth would they invent an 'excuse' for becoming more loving. there's no motive to lie. if they became more loving without god they wouldn't attribute the chance to god.

sgt7 Says:

May 23, 2012 - im a hypocrite? listen, go back do another degree and learn the difference between dogmatically preaching and stating your informed, objective view on a topic.

quaternio Says:

May 23, 2012 - I don't think you know what the word "dogmatic" means.I believe that they believe that god changed them. I believe they're sincere. But I can't just take them for their word when people who believe what they do commit evil. If belief in God really made people good, as they claim, no religious person would be wicked. Therefore, I'm forced to consider how these beliefs really operate. In so doing, I judge them very little, less than you probably, because I think even the wicked ones are sincere.

TrueBeliever442 Says:

May 23, 2012 - Quote the verse that says the earth is the center of the universe. It does not. "The earth rotating around the earth ... , but the evidence supported it"? Makes as much senses as Darwinism. Very few people still believe in geocentrism but if you have to go back hundreds of years to make your argument, which is done quite often, it shows a true lack of understanding. The question of the earth's physical position is less important than the spiritual reality of God's love for his people.

michiganfan51 Says:

May 23, 2012 - no one will ever win a God vs no God view, until we realize that well then atheists will keep fighting theists on the debate and vice versa...no one wins so lets just let it go

bal2569 Says:

May 24, 2012 - things you never hear in the news: "Today the agnostic rebels took heavy fire from the atheist stronghold in the west." Religion was a part of our evolution as humans, but it's time we took off the training wheels. Our survivial as a species depends on it.

TheQFTheorist Says:

May 24, 2012 - Read the Koran you'll have ur observation. what more than an authentic message from the creator to its creation.

Desdenova262 Says:

May 24, 2012 - The bible is what gives religion a bad name, have you actually read the shit that God says and does, and commands?I thought you said you were a scientist? And Richard Feynman was your hero?Didn't you watch the video? As a scientist you start of with doubt. Now do you mean to tell me You are the first scientist with evidence of a God since you believe in one? Or is it that you do not use the scientific method properly.

physicsacademy Says:

May 25, 2012 - I could listen listen to Richard Feynman talkng all day long and never get bored. Great scientist and communicator .

Arm0ry Says:

May 28, 2012 - Religious preachers trying to convert people are just as bad as atheist rhetoricians trying to bring people off their believe. As long as laws are kept, it is everyone's individual decision what they believe. Laws kept, religious people have to let others believe (or not) what they want and just as well atheists have to let religious people believe what they want. Picking a fight with someone who does nothing to anyone, trying to rub in their face how their belief is wrong, that's what's wrong.
