Nov 1, 2011 - one of my faves of all time....I got the joy of seeing her do this song live twice....she would get into this song by just getting into a trance and then bobbing her head up and down and her hair would be all in her face...usually that was at the end of the song

Dec 30, 2011 - I think she really pushed the boundaries in terms of lyrics and structure for a "pop" album. Some of these songs don't even really have choruses. The album had so many songs and was packed with raw emotion lyrically and quantitatively speaking. Very experimental for its time and I still think it's her best album. I know some thought it was too long, which it was a bit long, but most of the tracks were superb. I would be ok with omitting Your Congratulations & Are You Still Mad.

Apr 14, 2012 - SFIJ is my favourite album of all time. The songwriting is sublime in it's structure and lyrical content. I have to be in the right mood to listen to it however, otherwise the old emotions can take a bit of a battering. There is a dark streak running through this album that can catch you unawares, like a Black Panther hiding in a dark corner waiting to pounce. It is a supremely honest album, warts and all, and that is why I love it so. There's no dripping honey here...

May 14, 2012 - I agree completely. All the songs seem to speak to some situation in my life because she was speaking to the human condition as she explored themes like family problems, oppressive relationships, accepting pain, dealing with the past, and bettering one's self, on the album. It's one of my favorite albums ever.
