Dec 10, 2011 - thumbs up if you fast forwarded thru Pedro's answers*sorry...he's a brilliant filmmaker but the language barrier seems to get the best of him here / tends to lead to rambling answer

mobyvedr Says:

Dec 27, 2011 - Really annoying that Pedro Almodovar is on there. He's first and foremost a director, and he does the director thing on the panel, dominating the conversation. You can see Sorkin getting a little impatient. I watched this because I want to hear the guys who are primarily writers.

Jan 11, 2012 - Someitmes... when a group of writers has gathered... it's good to talk about writing.. Not direction!!! Boy it takes forever for this to get going.. thanks Pedro.

thisisrobertb Says:

Jan 23, 2012 - This interviewer is playing some kind of character... right? No one is paid to be this horrible at leading a conversation.

vedderim Says:

Jan 25, 2012 - Eric Roth is a cool customer. I want to sit on a porch with the guy and just talk.

popou Says:

Feb 8, 2012 - around the 26 minute mark there's whispering in the background... creepy

CherrydStudios Says:

Feb 20, 2012 - who's the homie on the far right?

kevinandcassie Says:

Feb 27, 2012 - Aaron is very honest!

ZachClooney Says:

Feb 28, 2012 - Wow! Thank you so much for the Hollywood Reporter for this roundtable discussion with 2011's leading screenwriters. It would have been good to have seen Abi Morgan within this group.

ZachClooney Says:

Feb 28, 2012 - Agree. That's exactly what I thought. It would have been fascinating to have had Abi Morgan who had a great year with 'Shame' and 'The Iron Lady'. May be she was not available when this event took place. Nevertheless, this is a real treat to have this roundtable discussion.

ZachClooney Says:

Feb 28, 2012 - I simply didn't want this one hour roundtable discussion Sorkin, Zaillian, Eric Roth and others to end. Thank you Hollywood Reporter. There were some good questions and good responses. Looking forward to the 2012 series.

Mar 3, 2012 - I believe Pedro has a translator behind him and he's trying to understand what the others are saying.

popou Says:

Mar 3, 2012 - I know lol Just joking around

batrama310 Says:

Mar 3, 2012 - Oops my bad.

ThePhantom135 Says:

Mar 4, 2012 - Aaron Sorkin is one of my favorite screenwriters. He's very honest and upfront in his writing. I love his script for Social Network.

MrSullyOSully Says:

Mar 15, 2012 - The idea I had of who Gael Garcia Bernal is has been totally destroyed, I cant believe he had to see a psychiatrist just from playing a transvestite and making out with a couple of guys! The guy is supposed to be an actor and surely he read the script before he took the part.

AScearce2332 Says:

Mar 16, 2012 - I sincerely wish Woody Allen would do one of these. ):

ptjordan11 Says:

Apr 3, 2012 - Actually the French New Wave would help Sorkin's argument of filmmaking being an indigenous art form. This film movement was inspired by American filmmaking and its trademark films like Breathless clearly pay homage to American films.

BluesSkins Says:

Apr 14, 2012 - From this new agreement had emerged "La nouvelle vague" which was based on the non-conformism of new french directors who refused to apply the rules of the classic era of french cinema.

BluesSkins Says:

Apr 14, 2012 - "La nouvelle vague" has not been influenced by american filmmaking at the opposite american filmmaking had almost killed french cinema. Some history: The Blum-Byrne Agreement signed in 1946 by american and french was based on the principle of free competition. This agreement had led to an unequal market flooded by american films, but the demonstration of french writers, actors and directors... on the 4th of January 1948 had allowed a revision of the terms of the agreement (30% of french films).

ptjordan11 Says:

Apr 27, 2012 - I am not saying that all filmmaking is strongly influenced by American filmmaking (thank goodness for that) but the French New Wave was inspired by different American auteurs like Billy Wilder, Nicholas Ray, etc.

viksam009 Says:

May 29, 2012 - Pedro has more talent and made infinitely better movies at that table than everyone else put together.
