May 20, 2012 - The only people in the North and South who could afford slaves were rich. They used them for general servitude tasks such as cooking, cleaning rooms, etc in the North. They were beat just as savagely in the North as in the South, so I wish people would quit stereotyping the South as the only who had slaves, because few could afford to buy, let alone feed and clothe them. Coming from a Northerner who understands that the South was fighting from tyrannical government, not to preserve slavery.

May 21, 2012 - the north did have slavery but like i said they became industrial that they no longer had a need for it and the south supported state rights more so that the federal government couldnt outlaw slavery which they were afraid the government would do when lincoln was made president. (even though lincoln said he only wanted to keep it from spreading)

I personally have no respect for the man but I'm not going to try to force my opinions on you. Neither the north or South has a great need for slavery but they both held on to it. Hiring workers was much more efficient and cheaper than buying, feeding, and clothing a slave.

He declared secession illegal by the Constitution, which never even mentions the issue (actually the Declaration of Independence grants the right to secession if necessary). Lincoln was attempting to make the US more like the very England we rebelled from in 1776 and understandably the South had enough and rebelled against the tyrannical government

May 25, 2012 - When one man believes one race superior to another he is a racist if he is that race or not. I do not understand how you figure Japanese people to be superior. I like some black people, I like some Asians, and I like some white people (I'm white myself). I do not like ALL black people, ALL Asians, or ALL white people. I believe the socialist education system is what is causing all the violence in the US, not one race in particular. It is teaching my generation some very backwards stuff.
