May 23, 2012 - The Internet wasn't as big back in 1999 as it is now. Also I'm not sure but the WWF at the time might not have had a website, so Stone Cold relied also on the souvenir stands or the magazines.

And the refusing to job to people, Lesnar is a dick but i can agree that stone cold should have put him over, Kane getting a title is for one day is better than never getting the title. He let the Rock beat him a lot of times, the invasion, the wrestlemania cleanly, whereas stone cold won one dirty. But Shawn Michaels had an ego problem too but he was/is

May 23, 2012 - I'm old enough to remember that I had the internet back in 1999. There was a monumental jump in the late 90s for internet usage and transfer of information. I'm simply saying you can't compare 80s Hogan to 90s Austin in terms of merchandise sale because one had the benefit of this media outlet over the other. Period.

May 24, 2012 - you maybe right about Hogan's media outlets but you gotta realize Stone Cold had a lot too. Remember when he made a few cameo appearances on Nash Bridges on USA? The character he played on that show USA was willing to offer Stone Cold a spinoff series but Stone Cold turned it down because he loved wrestling. Stone Cold also appeared on many talk shows to include Regis and Kathy Lee, I think Jay Leno and others. SO Austin had media outlets and exposure too.

May 26, 2012 - Austin himself admitted Rock was the TOP GUY and he felt stale so he turned heel at WM 01. He also admitted he was pissed he wasnt chosen to face Hogan at WM 02, then he walked out for 2 weeks the day after WM 02 bc he was suppose to be the 2nd draft pick behind Rock. Then he was asked to job to Lesnar for a qualifier while Rock did it on PPV, smh yea Vince really though much of Austin......NOT

May 23, 2012 - Media outlets? what? Hogan was in movies during his prime in the WWF whereas stone cold only got into movies after his tenure with the WWF/E. Hogan was in the media a lot more than Stone Cold and more people know of Hogan out of wrestling purely because of his movies and how big he was, despite him very lacking in wrestling skills. What were the media outlets that stone cold had?
