TheMagnum26 Says:
Jul 19, 2011 - what a fabulous speaker .Abuse in the home is unfortunately always behind closed doors. I have been through it and my friend is just about to be re aquainted with it as she is going to have him back. Whether it is children, husbands or wives no one ever has the right to abuse.
orgixvi3 Says:
Jul 24, 2011 - My dad was a weekend alcoholic as well, he would lose control too, but never laid a finger on me or my mother (I think), my sister was not so lucky. Freudian excuse for her lesbianism, I suppose. :/
LivexLongxProsper Says:
Jul 25, 2011 - "Violence is a choice, and it is a choice that man makes. We can choose to stop it." I admire him so much more now. When I heard the bit about him faking anger it hit a chord.
MagicMrNameless Says:
Jul 25, 2011 - He's amazing. Don't forget, we need to work against all domestic violence - it goes both ways.
prosedad1 Says:
Jul 25, 2011 - HELP STOP DOMESTIC VIOLENCE: Prosecute women too, since they commit it 50% of the time and they use weapons to overcompensate for their smaller stature....Oh yeah, women are 60% of all child abusers too. GET CUSTODY to fathers at least 50% of the time! Check out the summary/bibliography of 282 studies: csulb.edu/~mfiebert/assault.htm

Jul 31, 2011 - As a 35-year survivor of such violence, I can't tell you how humbled I am. Thank you so much for sharing this. Thank you for fighting for us, Sir. May I find strength in this to continue my healing and maybe one day start speaking out on a wider scale.

Sep 22, 2011 - He is a truly a great person. Not only saving the universe as Captain Picard or helping Mutants as Professor X, but also in real life.
Ebvardh Says:
Nov 1, 2011 - I remember when I went to catechism, I told one of the nuns about how when my father was hitting my mother, I wish I could just take a fork and stab him with it... She didn't say anything. None of them did.No one helped.
WilliamJMRobson Says:
Nov 13, 2011 - I held one of my good friends as she died. She was stabbed multiple times by her abusive ex. Now that I have recovered from the tragedy, I as a Man am fully supporting women to take on more leadership roles and to stand up against violence against women.
FrellingDomino Says:
Jan 7, 2012 - Bravo! Really awesome man to stand up against violence against women!
guitarvirgin Says:
Jan 18, 2012 - This video is a disgusting example of gender bias and ignorance. The general message of this video is that many men commit domestic violence and women are normally the victims of this violence and that message is a LIE.If you're not afraid to face the truth then cut and paste the following into youtubeDomestic Violence - 1 in 4 Women - 1/4
ammobank Says:
Jan 19, 2012 - @guitarvirgin You are incorrect in your analasis. It is about how some women have little or no ability to get out of a situation or to fight against the attacker.I would consider talking to a trusted person about what you are saying. Not those in your group. It is not at all what you are saying.
ammobank Says:
Jan 19, 2012 - @NoMorThanMost... No one is listening to you. Give it up and go back to your world.
ammobank Says:
Jan 19, 2012 - @Shoteen95 It seems some who suffer become gold while others who suffer become become bitter and hostile. I wonder just what is the dividing factor. I would think it to faith.
ammobank Says:
Jan 19, 2012 - @starsiegeplayer 100% disagree. However, women are physically weaker and unable to return a blow while some men are abused because woman can control by other means than strength. Money, Sex, The Kids, Threat of Cheating, name calling, bullying, deception, poisoning, and/or rumors.
NoMorThanMost Says:
Jan 19, 2012 - @ammobank"100% disagree". You can disagree all you want. It is still a FACT.
NoMorThanMost Says:
Jan 19, 2012 - @ammobank"No one is listening to you." Really? That's your reply? How about you bring some actual facts to the conversation. Then you can try refuting my documented facts. Sorry... try again.
NoMorThanMost Says:
Jan 19, 2012 - @ammobank"@guitarvirgin You are incorrect in your (analysis)" Actually guitarvirgin was not making an analysis. I think you meant "conclusion". And his conclusion is spot on with the VAST MAJORITY of research that has been done on DV for the last 50+ years. You think you are arguing with guitarvirgin, starsiegeplayer or myself but you are not. You are arguing against 100's of studies supported by years of research from actual experts with PhD's.
CosmoAziza Says:
Jan 22, 2012 - This moved me to tears and I hold Patrick in even greater regard after hearing him speak about wanting to protect his mother......I sincerely hope that there is divine justice for all perpetrators who abuse women. And abuse comes in many forms, not just physical......and the policemen who think that women provoke men have NO idea what we go through so think again and God help your conscience if any of us come to any harm. SILENCE NEEDS TO BE BROKEN AND WE NEED TO RAISE OUR VOICES
Jzadek72 Says:
Jan 24, 2012 - @ammobank Women are not physically weaker. Go and develop an understanding of statistics.

NoMorThanMost Says:
Jul 3, 2011 - @kamichisolm2-1 DV is about people hurting people. The idea that women are the MAJORITY is an obtuse one. I will say that 188,650 spouses annually, seems to me, to be a lowball on the issue. I think abuse is much high than that. However, my point is that DV is not about sex (i.e. men abuse women) and check your sources. There are a lot of people looking for money or political support that give out false DV stats.
