Feb 22, 2010 - "My best avg. is 43km/h on a 40km course... I have along way to go! "That's damn good. Professional triathletes in shorter distance triathlons do a split comparable to yours.Remember that the faster you go, the fiercer the wind resists you. Going a few kilometers faster requires significantly more energy to push through the air. I think it varies as the square of the velocity.

Mar 25, 2010 - "I believe his performances are the result of the same hard work, dedication and focus that were mine 10 years ago." -Greg LeMond-

May 5, 2010 - -------- 26.7mph........... you don't have a long way to go, son, you need to simply hang up your dreams and sell your bike. Your "best avg. speed" is nothing short of pedestrian... Maybe try kite surfing. I hear its a killer rush!

Caladolen Says:

May 22, 2010 - How could he average of 54km/h, when the winners in Tour of California averaged on 48km/h today, and that was only 33km. Like.. Really? That's more than 10% faster. Was this TT downhill?

MrCraiguss Says:

May 25, 2010 - The best cyclist the world has ever seen!!!!!

Porsche917LH Says:

Jun 5, 2010 - That's harsh. Don't feel bad Matte. Though as a junior cyclist I am sub-hour pace. I'd like to see you do better.

runningonice1 Says:

Jun 16, 2010 - How about Eddy Merckx??? Even Armstrong would say he's the best.

hallopapa111 Says:

Jun 19, 2010 - Try eddy rocks!!!

hallopapa111 Says:

Jun 19, 2010 - Mr. eddy can compete with lance.

davd1986 Says:

Aug 3, 2010 - Ullrich always looses a lot in the early stages of time trials and then either keeps the same deficit or actually gets time back on whoever is leading. That's pretty much how his tours and seasons in general went, start slow, then build up, but falling short one too many times, even though he won a tour, a vuelta, the olympics in 2000, a couple World TT champs, been a German champion several times, won stages in all three GT's, etc. It's amazing, cause many of us consider him an underachiever!

nightowl8936 Says:

Aug 9, 2010 - I don't like the tone of the commentary at 3:27 saying, "if it was not for Greg LeMond's time trial back in 1989 this would be the fastest time trial in history."As if to say, "If that damn Greg LeMond had not duelled in the most amazing and incredible time trial to recoup a 50 second deficit and win by 8 seconds against a determined Laurent Fignon, Lance's time trial would be the fastest..."BUT others were close to Lance, no one was as close to LeMond's time, when the handlebars were used.

Aug 19, 2010 - Some statistics for comparison (details of course geography and equipment differences set aside):Chris Boardman 55.152 km.h 7.2 km 1994Dave Zabriskie 54.676 km/h 19 km. 2005 fastest average speed ever ... Greg LeMond 54.545 km/h 24 km. 1989 - previous recordLance Armstrong 53.986 km/h 58.5 km 2000Interesting aside:Gewiss Team 54.930 kph 67km - 1995 Hope this provides some interesting facts for comparison and discussion.

Dec 14, 2010 - would have loved to see the 2000's lance vs cancellara's "motor"

mvonwahlde Says:

Dec 24, 2010 - How DOES he do it? He must be SUPER-HUMAN!

Fujin95 Says:

Feb 25, 2011 - 3:05 The car is trying to draft off of Lance!

blzeye87 Says:

Apr 10, 2011 - I LOVE THIS COMMENT!!!

blzeye87 Says:

Apr 10, 2011 - To all you non supporters stop watching video of Lance if you hate him. You try to prove with words that tests themselves could not prove. Lance won due to the facts of trainingonly for the tour, the only rider who had a team built around him, and upon his return in 99' he had dropped the weight so his power to weight ratio was better than in the past. So now he could climd and improved on his already better than most TT time.

TheEpiphoneguitar Says:

Apr 13, 2011 - and what have you done with your life? i see you complaining but providing zero ways to fix it.

YiftertheShifter1 Says:

May 4, 2011 - This is a ridiculous assumption that doesn't take into account: 1. This is a point to point course, 2. Elevation (absence of climbs, downhills, etc...) 3. weather conditions. Having an aiding tailwind can bump you several miles an hour faster than in still conditions (on a point to point course). This year at the Boston Marathon, there was a massive tailwind that helped the leaders run the fastest marathon in history. Think before making such serious accusations.

YiftertheShifter1 Says:

May 4, 2011 - Then the car got DQ'ed! Or fined in seconds. No drafting in time trialing! ;D

davd1986 Says:

May 22, 2011 - LOL, you can see who the class of the TT were those years! Not a huge win with 25 seconds, but then the gaps explode.

smorales3308 Says:

Jul 25, 2011 - is there something that can stop him!?!?!this guy is my ultimate hero!!!Its sooo impressive!! nofingerz Says:

Oct 6, 2011 - who'd win in a tt: fabian cancellara or lance armstrong in his prime???

soobeng Says:

Jan 3, 2012 - great video

davd1986 Says:

Apr 1, 2012 - Cancellara. In pure terms, Indurain and Ullrich and perhaps somebody like a Tony Martin could beat Armstrong. In fact, all these guys have beaten Armstrong at the TT. Ullrich has beaten armstrong several times. I am not sure when their primes are or were, but two notable times Ullrich beat Armstrong was at the 2000 Olympics and 2003 Tour de France. Armstrong wasn't at his absolute best at the 2003 TDF, but I don't think Ullrich was either. He beat him by over 1 1/2 minutes.
