Yes, I think there was more than just friendship perhaps, but there is such a thing as 'agape' which in the Bible refers to 'Higher love' really, it doesn't necessarily mean they had a homosexual relationship..

First we see "Love Mankind" when Spock is walking around earlier in the episode, then we see the "Sinner Repent" in the elevator Kirk is in. It's meaning can be speculated.

May 20, 2012 - Always liked Kirk and Spock but slash always was silly and odd to me because it simply wasn't about the characters nor were they attractive creations that would have made the idea interesting (like with anime stories). It would be the same to say such things about every US President and vice president, or two random people walking down the street.
