Description:
Navigating a picturesque swim through a cut in the coral reef at Rum Caye, Bahamas. Jan 23, 2012 - William, does your gopro camera have a modified lens? i know the gopros suffer from blur underwater with the original lens but this seems very clear.

williamtrubridge Says:

Jan 23, 2012 - yes, I use the 'Eye of mine' flat lens. I understand GoPro is (finally) putting out their own flat lens soon.

Jan 23, 2012 - Man you have inspired me to freedive. I'm 16 and can hold my breath a little over 2 minutes. I dive in local Florida springs when I get time. Thanks for the inspiration Will. Yours truly.

bubblevision Says:

Jan 24, 2012 - Lots of dead coral and no fish :(

williamtrubridge Says:

Jan 24, 2012 - this was an area quite close to the beach, where there don't tend to be a lot of fish anyway. Also the island scored a direct hit from Hurricane Irene a few months ago..

Jan 24, 2012 - Mee too, Eyes of mine! Great lens. but no possibilities to put filter on it. so If you want a better color (no blue), you should get the Gopro flat lens and filters :)

Jan 24, 2012 - Nice dive.

Crippys1 Says:

Jan 24, 2012 - Cornwall has some really nice spots to freedive. You are right the viz is less than ideal most of the time but I say give it a go you will be surprised.Living the dream Will I am very jealous.

bubblevision Says:

Jan 24, 2012 - Ah OK. Would love to see you explore some areas with more colorful marine life. Something else... I think you might benefit from using a Magic Filter (or similar) over your lens. It's a red/orange filter that helps balance the colours underwater and reduce that harsh cyan look, especially in the highlights.

CedCydy Says:

Jan 27, 2012 - indeed, it should be available end of Feb

IgorGrytsenko Says:

Jan 31, 2012 - William, what was this jacket on top of your orca freedive, please? It wasn't heatseeker vest

VBFreediving Says:

Jan 31, 2012 - It's actually a custom-made Orca jacket with hood that I use for teaching and long days in the water.
