Nov 25, 2011 - THAT was his problem. Had he fought more, he might have lasted long enough to tire our Foreman.
cracks21229 Says:
Nov 27, 2011 - That is one insightful comment. Amen!
tapiaassasin Says:
Nov 30, 2011 - Former heavyweight world champion Joe Frazier was arrested in February 2004 after police responded to a 911 domestic violence call from his North Philadelphia home. When police arrived a woman, the mother of Frazier's son, answered the door. She told the police that Frazier had hit her and there were injuries to her face to back up the claim. The charges were later dropped, after the woman refused to testify against Frazier.
adrenacrumb Says:
Dec 3, 2011 - lol okay when the guy is swinging in the completely opposite direction of the fighter you may want to stop it.
makpak Says:
Dec 7, 2011 - that punch around 3:34 is mean.
BBQFanNo1 Says:
Dec 11, 2011 - Frazier never was the same after the first fight against Ali.
sugarlanskee8 Says:
Dec 13, 2011 - Is that Les Keiter announcing?
thegreat144000 Says:
Dec 17, 2011 - Ron Stander took bombs from Earnie Shavers and didn't go down. He had Shavers down twice, knocking him out in the fifth round. This fight here was stopped on cuts, but it's obvious Frazier eventually would have knocked him out.
jimhaas3 Says:
Dec 20, 2011 - When was this fight?
muclesmarinara Says:
Dec 20, 2011 - Joe was only 5'10 and started at around 205 pounds but he was SO strong. He had the power. Power doesn't care how big you are.
booboorhymes Says:
Dec 24, 2011 - Ooeff...good you mentioned it. I would have missed it. That is seriously taking-out-somebrain-cells mean!
dempsey981 Says:
Jan 1, 2012 - Ron just walkin straight into joe trading bombs is ugly to watch.as far as i know only foreman got away with that.what else could ron do,i guess thats the only way he knows how to fight.thats what happens with strong, good, but one dimensional fighters,no alternate game, then bye bye.the more tricks in your bag the harder to beat usually.boxings hard hard sport
ScottsSelfDefense Says:
Feb 8, 2012 - I've never heard of Ron Stander but now I'm kind of angry that i haven't. this is amazing. Its funny though because my dad fought like him always forward never backing up, and when he taught me how to box he taught me the exact opposite. stay out of range in and out short compact combinations and until now i have always wandered why
alboooze Says:
Feb 22, 2012 - brutal KO foreman vs frazier
AliceNchainz011 Says:
Mar 21, 2012 - 1972...i forget the exact date...you can find dates and boxing records at boxrec.com btw
messier991102 Says:
Mar 22, 2012 - this is a lackluster performance by joe. the ali fight really sapped his skills, and he faded much worse than any fighter i can think of. a 68' frazier that dominated quarry would have got stander out of there in 3
1ambrose100 Says:
Apr 2, 2012 - Stander wasn't supposed to go 4 rounds.
chillyayo2012 Says:
Apr 3, 2012 - Agree 100 percent
wdooleyful Says:
Apr 3, 2012 - Ron Stander was a BEAST but lacked the boxing skills to be a top contender or champion. Just goes to show how many truly tough SOBs were around back then.
dd301952 Says:
Apr 13, 2012 - messier99102: You are right. Frazier went 5-4-1 after the first Ali fight. He was careful about his opponents.Joe didn't fight Lyle and Shavers. Frazier and Norton took turns fighting Ali but not each other.
radgainesmaster Says:
Apr 20, 2012 - Good battle
PorkFrog Says:
May 4, 2012 - the candle that burns brightest burns shortestJoe's style was bound to make him fade quicker than other guysWas Joe the best heavyweight? No, but you could make a case for him being the most intense and ferocious. And what a heart
PorkFrog Says:
May 4, 2012 - Stander is tougher than a nickel steak. Joe had him out in left field where he staggered over to the ropes, back turned--maybe Joe was too surprised at Stander's reaction, not just eating the punches. But it could be a class move, just not wanting to attack a defenseless guy.when Duran clearly threw up his hands and quit, Leonard hit him twice. Duran acted like he didn't care about getting hit while walking away
sugarraykirk Says:
May 27, 2012 - Smokin' Joe. One of the most exciting heavyweight champs of all time.

AntonioyLiz Says:
Nov 23, 2011 - Wow Ron Standard is one tough guy hanging on like that. Awesome fight!!!
