Title: NYC Halloween Weekend Historic Snow Storm- October 29th, 2011
Added: Oct 29, 2011
Author: tornadovideostock
Duration: 4:1
Description:
What a storm this was! And what's more, it was an historic one. This storm brought with it the most snow the NYC area has ever seen in October. What a way to start the season, and technically...we're not even IN the season yet. Summer ended only a little over a month ago! And I have to say, I payed a big price shooting it today. My so called "waterproof" boots weren't quite waterproof and I can honestly say that these shooting conditions were the worst that I have ever experienced. Cold and miserable the entire time. Wet feet for hours on end which is about as miserable as it gets lol. But, what can you do, right?Another hazard I experienced today were huge chunks of heavy wet snow falling from the skyscrapers along Broadway in Manhattan! One huge chunk got me directly in the head, and another bigger chunk missed me by mear inches. Thankfully, I didn't get anything more than a slight bump on the head. Hope you enjoy the video!Scott McPartlandhttp://www.SevereWeatherVideo.com©2011 Scott McPartland*NOT FOR RE-BROADCAST*

Nov 12, 2011 - LOL...NYC is pretty cool, but I have to say I enjoyed visiting London for the first time last year. Then again, maybe I'd feel different if I lived there all the time. Thanks for watching!

Nov 12, 2011 - Wow love this footage Scott ! :) I just asked you on your other video if you had seen snow yet =D LOL This is unbelievable . I know what you mean about those ice chunks falling . Last year I saw some smashed windshields from people parking near buildings where the snow and ice were melting and falling off in huge chunks. Some people narrowly missed being hit as they got in their cars. Thank you for the fantastic video and look forward to all of your upcoming vids !

Nov 15, 2011 - i cant believe this is historic lol its barely 3 inches at the end of the video.
tornadovideostock Says:
Nov 15, 2011 - Historic not because of the snow fall totals, but in the fact that we have never seen more than .8" of snow in October as long as records go back (142 years). Thanks for watching!

Dec 5, 2011 - Exactly, snow fall wise this was hardly anything, but the time of year it happened was very out of the ordinary :)

Dec 8, 2011 - While NYC was having winter weather, southern Ontario was having temps up to 20 lol

Dec 9, 2011 - 20C you mean lol. Yeah, I always joke with my Canadian friends when it comes to the whole C vs F scale. They say things like "it was hot here today, it was like 30!" and my reply is "30??! That's below freezing what are you talking about!" hehe. Thanks for watching
