Feb 14, 2012 - wow i'm speachless your AMAZING! I have wanted to be a singer for as long as I could remember. A few months ago I nearly got ran over by a car. I know it's prety silly, but I got inspired to write a short story from that experince. I had no writting experince what so ever, but I didnt care. I only wanted to write something 1 page long, but it ended up being 3. I showed it to my dad, and he said I was really good for a inexperinced 12 year old. I now am going to be writing a novel. :D

I am in a linguistics Ph.D. program, but still struggle with writing. Writing does not come to me naturally. Oil painting does. Your explanation of the writing process made so much sense to me, because it seems like oil painting--seeing, observing the subtleties, researching, planning, mulling over ideas, then going at it like a madman.

I took the tips in this video, and read my writing like it was gold and it actually made me appreciate it more. I saw it differently, perhaps you could say in a new, golden light. Thank you.

May 4, 2012 - I've never been the type of kid who is good at writing. lol I wish I had had an english teacher like you at some point. Writing, reading, and grammar always seemed like such a chore. In school, I would dread essays or personal responses because I was always worried I was doing something wrong. I never developed confidence in my writing. I was always a curmudgeon. But you you have really put things into perspective writing is beautiful.
