May 17, 2012 - First of all whats wrong with making money it's what controls & motivates people to work. If you ever try set up a business or just do anything now days you will be overwhelmed with the amount of choice we have. Steve Job choose the right ideas and empowered them and delivered it to them us and the world. Also Steve approach was to have a closed and controlled experience which obviously works.

May 17, 2012 - Didnt say anything was wrong with it. Just responding to ppl who laud him for his "designs". He was revolutionary, and accomplished a lot. But what most ppl remember him for or as aren't very much in line with what he was truly about. The closed approach does work, and in fact, contrary to popular notion, ppl are happier with less choice, not more. So, maybe it came off as critical because I found it ironic that he threw out "IBM had its day", and who proved that alone he was a failure.

May 18, 2012 - "millions would later come to recognize as the most influential mind of the 21st centuty"You have to be kidding me right? The century is barely a decade old and already followers like you say these things? I'm not sure whether to laugh out loud or cry, seriously. Get a life, bloody sheep.

tnoyy34rt Says:

May 18, 2012 - Steve never cared about money, it was just a "side effect" of making great products.

ssuuppeerrbbooyy Says:

May 18, 2012 - If steve wasnt in computer technology he would make a great televangelist. That what apple really is. Selling the belief their products are better than the competition.

chipsalom Says:

May 19, 2012 - i think you need to look back over most of the early footage the world has about him. Not saying it ws some kind of sin, but what drove almost everything Steve Jobs did was the drive to make money. The niche he was trying to fill with the Next machines was carefully thought out to be a sure win money wise... didn't work out that way, but the entire reason he went after the education market in colleges was because he was certain they were a sure sell. Look at other footage, its pretty clear.

chipsalom Says:

May 19, 2012 - The myths and legends about him are what are irritating. People have turned him into some Jesus like character of technology. He was a visionary guy, but just look all the way back at the earliest interactions between him and Woz. One of the earliest business ventures between the 2 of them involved him screwing Woz for 95% of the money made on circuit boards Woz did all the the work to make. Jobs came up with a contract, had no clue how to fill it, and so came to Woz. And lied to him about pay.

May 21, 2012 - I see the tradition of mangling the Atari story is alive and well.

bishopdante Says:

May 23, 2012 - The closed approach?Well yes, closed is the right word. Because BSD is open. It was nicked/liberated from AT&T's Bell labs. So it was opened, and Darwin was/is open. But OSX is increasingly closed, especially in the case of iOS. Very closed indeed. Locked and closed. AT&T...

May 26, 2012 - This is an impressive insider.Actually it teaches us that we should provide the best quality at the best price at the best time window and not leave one of them out to compromise on any of these criteria. This is why Apple is at the top, because they provide the top.Lift customers to the top and I'll they'll keep coming back for more!Thank you so much Apple and Steve and may you rest in peace forever!

danielasa1955 Says:

May 27, 2012 - I don't see a multi-cultural crowd there like the pics Apple plasters all over the place now. Not a single niggger or spic. Goes to show why the U.S is becoming a third world Rome of Old.
