Dec 14, 2011 - You have to remember that this game came out in 2006. Intel Pentium 4 processors were king, and duel cores were finally becoming more popular. Orbx allows the flight sim user more detail because we all (for the most part) have better computers today that can process the many polygons that go into a scene. You do have to give some credit as FSX was admittedly a large step up from 2004 in terms of terrain and texture quality. With 3D, there's always tradeoff's here and there.

The more stuff you load up inside the airplane, the less of the outside world you will be able to appreciate.This was another reason why they made the SDK. People with programming knowledge and 3D know how could make some fantastic scenery, airplanes, and other things with a little bit of work.

Dec 14, 2011 - I'm so glad to see that Microsoft got back to this amazing simulator! So many things have changed since 2005 and so many new graphic technologies appeared! It's definitely time to rewrite the game engine from scratch (I hope they're doing so :) ) to conform to these technologies giving user totally new experience. I believe that new FS + addons from major companies specifically for this new version will make the game experience unbelievably amazing! Can't wait to check it out!

Feb 11, 2012 - That's because the entire game is in Hawaii. It wont have the entire world like previous flight sim games, but it will have a lot more detail.

Mar 11, 2012 - Even though the game is free, it'd be hard to convince people to download it if all they showed was "sunny" Scotland, lol ^_^The game looks great and is downloading as I type this, can't wait to fly in Hawaii :)
