Like the Balalaika, (which is triangular in shape) it is played with a plectrum, rapidly strummed, playing melody or musical rhythm / accompaniment. May 14, 2012 - My best guess on - Za vashe zdorovie - is that the "Russian" sings it immediately - Heaven bless you both. But, zdorovie, as translated by its "cousin language - Polish - means "health or toast". I cannot find a Polish equivalent for "vashe". "Blessing" or "Heaven" do not fit. The Polish for "Na" has the idea of fullness, or copious amounts. So "Na Zdrovie" might be translated as "Overflowing Health (to you)." It is commonly used as a toast while imbibing the "hard stuff".

May 24, 2012 - Za and Na are russian preposition (like English "in", "on", "to") and don't translate directly to their English counterparts. Za kinda means "to" or "for" in this situation and "Na" means "to". Vashe is the Russian word "Vash" meaning "Your" but it has an "e" at the end to agree with the gender of the word Zdorovye meaning Health. "To Your Health". Na Zdrovye means pretty much the same thing except Zdorovye has been shortened.
