May 26, 2012 - Damn, that's a movin' bass line!
OneStonegrooved Says:
May 26, 2012 - It's interesting how people make such a fuss about drummers like Neil Peart, with about a thousands drums. If you ask me, guys that can do incredible things with a simple trap kit deserve praise too!! Ringo had a set just like this!
flangerdeluxe Says:
May 27, 2012 - I'm a fan of Donnie and Neil. Different styles but, both good. Watch Neil play on the Buddy Rich tribute, small kit aswell
OneStonegrooved Says:
May 27, 2012 - Oh, absolutely. Nobody beats Buddy Rich. NOBODY!! You see guys like Don Brewer and John Bonham playing triplets endlessly. That's cuz it's a classic rock-n-roll beat but it pales in comparison with what Buddy could do! Thing was, Buddy was kind of an asshole. He certainly wouldn't hesitate to rub how great he was into other drummer's faces. What really hurt was HE WAS RIGHT! He wouldn't have wasted time playing all those triplets!
OneStonegrooved Says:
May 27, 2012 - By the way, I saw Bob Segar in concert about 2 years ago and guess who his drummer was? DON BREWER! They're both from Michigan. Naturally, Don was great but he wasn't the showman he was with GFR. He didn't do any drum solos, he just kept the beat. I guess the days of him showing everyone how well he could play triplets are over! Now Buddy Rich was still blowing people away with his drums solos in his 60s!
flangerdeluxe Says:
May 27, 2012 - Right you are. Buddy was the man! :)

raikanan Says:
