My vegan friends don't look any better than the rest of my friends, in fact one of them always has some kind of cold or flu, and my meat eating alcoholic/smoker grandma is outliving everyone in my family. Let's start with proven sentient beings - humans, animals/mammals, fish, birds, reptiles. I've gotten a squirrel, a bat and mice out of the house with no harm. Any insect I scoop up with a suction bellows & throw back outside. Why would I want to live in harmony with a colony of bugs? Their lives are outdoors.

Bay leaves & catnip make them go back outside!By plague, you mean swarms of locusts as in Biblical times? Not much you can do about that. And when you're born with a mission in life of innately loving animals so much you will sacrifice your lifestyle, then yes it's a sin not to try.
