Sue Sundowner Says:
May 15, 2012 - Problem is your comment that Steve Marriott never "ventured outside the Brit pop thang" and wasn't an R&B artist is proof that you have only heard him sing this song. So any comparisons you attempt to make between him and other artists are going to be pretty meaningless, no? Maybe you could come back and discuss after you've actually listened to his work. I'm an American, btw.
xJayWalkerx Says:
May 16, 2012 - What Sue Sundowner said. You shouldn't comment on artist that you know practically NOTHING about.I'm far from telling who was the best soul singer, I love to many artists to do it everybody has different preferences and I wouldn't mind you telling that for example "you don't think Marriott was great" but to do it with ANY credibility you have to know more than one song, it isn't fair to judge someone who recorded over 150 songs with SF and similar amount with Humble Pie on a basis of ONE SONG!
xJayWalkerx Says:
May 16, 2012 - I'm sorry. I meant over 100 songs (not 150)

May 17, 2012 - Hey Jay & Sue... Bury the hatchet, okay?... I said the guy was a great singer & you're right... I haven't heard anywhere near the full body of his work (I grew up listening primarily to Black radio).. So cut a Brotha some slack, dig?... MC Mickey 1

May 21, 2012 - Tears fall from my Heart. Stevie was the perfect 'before and after'. The whole band was. Before and after the '25'! Pure innovation. Observe and listen to his musical history. Stevie got much more than a glimpse. And that was no accident. He reached back and at least attempted to take all of us with Him to Itchycoo Park. An Angel. Namaste.

May 24, 2012 - In my point of view , Steve Marriott and Freddie Mercury are the best Rock English singers ever PERIOD.RIP Steve, I love you!!!!!!!!!!!! <3
Eyesdontblush Says:
May 25, 2012 - No, you just don't get what The Rock'n'Roll Hall of Fame is. It's not for the most critically acclaimed artists, nor is it for those who have the biggest hits. Sid Vicious from Sex Pistols has a place there, but he featured on none of the albums, couldn't play the guitar and died a juvenile (age 21). Why the hell is he there? Because he had a major cultural impact. And so did the Small Faces. Do I have to remind you that they are one of the core bands of the mod movement in the 60s?Sry just did.

May 25, 2012 - I would put Chicago in the same league during the Terry Kath years.

May 25, 2012 - I'm rediscovering this band, and Steve Marriott, all over again. My "moment" comes at 1:11. Such a talent...such a loss.

May 26, 2012 - What a wonderful piece of 60's British pop perfection!

May 26, 2012 - I really miss those days when each day new tunes blasted through the wooden-box. I appreciate from the nature I was born in my era. Still makes me sing-a-ling with the lads.
Joeinlosangeles Says:
May 26, 2012 - True! Such a great band. Steve Marriott deserves way more recognition.

May 26, 2012 - I'm w/ Robertemmet321, Steve Marriott was amazing, Humble pie, Frampton, I was so pleased to see them inducted, everyonce in awhile. the RRHF gets something right!!
TIMOTHYSAARINEN Says:
May 27, 2012 - Steve Marriott probably would have been the lead singer for Led Zeppelin, but his record company wouldn't let him out of his contract.
NAHAJI133 Says:
May 27, 2012 - I agree 100% he does require a formal ROCK EDUCATION. Small Faces pumped out many songs. The book All Too Beautiful explains everything you need to know. Small Faces had a HUGE influence on music.Steve Marriott was so gifted.Had Arden sent them to America that would have changed everything. How Blessed all of us are to have grown up with The music of the 60's & 70's. If you are in BRITIAN from an American Girl , Thank you, your parents & grandparents for giving us the British Invasion.

May 27, 2012 - What about the Who? Seriously, get a grip of yourself, then find a scientist and clone yourself. Why you may ask. So you can fuck yourself.
raywes Says:
May 27, 2012 - The Who went in the hall in 1990.And for your last sentence to me, very mature.
ConnorG56 Says:
May 27, 2012 - What I mean by the who is, their still touring and theyre from the 60s. Also, its not my sentence. Its a quote from a movie.

golowandslow Says:
May 15, 2012 - ...and by the way... what about great white FEMALE soul singers like the late great Teena Marie, Dusty Springfield or Amy Winehouse?... not to mention Mz. Kiki Dee?... MC Mickey 1
