Feb 20, 2012 - in that thoughtlessness. Sort of like the atheist who claims to care for the betterment of man through the overcoming of such thoughtlessness when in all actuality he adores that very thoughtlessness for the supremacy of his own self, his own ego. The sort of person who out of ego would despair if people as a whole were much more thoughtful thereby lessening his own self. But again, I could be wrong.

Feb 20, 2012 - you may have the most cynical view of life I've ever witnessed. Not to say there aren't people like that, but I like to give people the benefit of the doubt. In the end, you're the only person that knows how you genuinely feel - and that goes for everybody. I think it's unfair to assume everyone is that self absorbed. And beyond that, you have to look at intent. Even if the opinion differs from your own, is the intent for the betterment of mankind? Right for different reasons?

Feb 20, 2012 - Good things have come from him. Ideas affecting minds positively. I can support the ideas separate from the man from which they were spouted. I dont support his overall
HalloFusilli Says:
Feb 20, 2012 - demeanor. A demeanor too characteristic of say an atheist who claims to want to better man yet espouses his ideas with condescension, ridicule, belittlement.

Feb 20, 2012 - It's important that you can distinguish the two and appreciate the result separate from the man. That's enough to satisfy me.

Feb 20, 2012 - Instead of compassionate understanding. Understanding that washes away the dirt of hatred.

Feb 20, 2012 - What about the belief that you're not born into sin? That you shouldn't have to spend your whole life asking for forgiveness and acceptance, but rather live the life you want? These are my beliefs as an atheist. I don't find them condescending. As long as you live under God's thumb, you're never truly free - and being truly free is something everyone should experience. There's only shame in living for God. You only live once. Make it count.

Feb 20, 2012 - You got me all wrong friend. I agree with what you have said. I agree with the ideas. What I was saying is that in many cases I don't agree with how many present their atheism.

Feb 20, 2012 - Though what I say may not necessarily be what is actually the case, I cannot help but see someone who was simply ego-tripping every time he was up on stage. Perhaps there really is a genuine desire to help, perhaps there really is sincere dislike for the condition of thoughtlessness that pervades the majority of society, a condition that perhaps truly saddened him and that he wanted to help change. Perhaps, but in the end, again, I cannot help but see a man who reveled
