May 25, 2012 - I'd like to jump in on this, God gave us free will, so a choice we can make because of that is to ask him to take control, this isn't litteral. this is saying, show me the right way and help me to have the strenght to do the right thing, it dosn't mean giving up you're free will, you can just as easily after that, say forget this and go back to you're old way, He'll still love you. (I don't reccomend going back though, prolly not a good idea if you needed to change in the first place)

May 28, 2012 - Sorry to hear it. I was raised Christian too. In fact my parents are missionaries, they move a lot. Sometimes it feels like that messed up my life pretty bad. But it had the upside of seeing God's miracles performed regularly, so whether it makes sense or not, at least it's real. If something makes no sense to you, ask a (good) pastor or priest what he / she thinks. Sure there will always be questions, but there are also certainties, like God exists, He created us, and He loves us.
