Don't fool yourself into thinking that the US govt debt won't eventually lead to economic depravity far greater than deficit cutting-austerity. It brings me back to my main point: yes it will hurt, but to keep going the way we are will make things much much worse.

Italy and Greece are simply not analogous cases. what is clear is that there is an unemployment crisis that needs to be remedied. it's a question of priorities. and where do you get this idea that "for every job created on govt borrowing, eventually two will have to be cut?"
