Oct 29, 2011 - i know what you mean though, i live in leeds and i have to drive through lincoln green, burmantofts & harehills everyday and i find it very depressing on the eye, bradford is horrendous, i'm afraid west yorkshire is becoming a dreadful place. i was in york yesterday funnily enough & the place is simply stunning, makes you feel proud to be english when you walk around york but on returning to leeds my heart sank into despair, 41 years ive lived in leeds & now i'd like to leave

Oct 29, 2011 - I have always lived in Gipton right on the border with Harehills. I hate the place, I have to pass through Compton road everyday, and everyday it looks less English. I know what you mean about York, it's a glorious little city and maintains an English feel, even on a packed saturday afternoon.

Feb 12, 2012 - Visited York recently from America. It was beautiful and the people were very nice. Had a good time and some good bitter! Can't wait to return, I love England.
