May 11, 2012 - My statement is not to knock Groucho Marx.He is a genius and is funny as hell.You have to understand the inside.Groucho Marx was the classic comedian, very insecure and not a happy man.Therefore he had to be "on" constantly whether that meant being funny or very sarcastic. He drove 3 wives to alcoholism.His first 2 children were not close to him and he was an insomniac always worrying. He always felt he was funnier than other comics of his day. A cynical perception that makes it such a far-fetched thing that perhaps I really was endeavoring for a deeper understanding of things instead of having people constantly reiterating how much more mindless society has become and actually being content with that superficial level of knowing without going deeper into things. If anything, your direct criticism is more indicative.
