LEDs can be set to any color, "blue/purple" lights are chinese PnP kits that ricers buy.OEM HID and OEM LED are both about 4300K in color temp by manufacturer choice, not based on how they work. If you actually watch the video you'll see that the LED projector is in fact 4300K, slightly yellow. No more white than HID. the only OEM blue color comes from the cutoff band, not a blue bulb

Feb 29, 2012 - now that you mention it, I don't doubt their brightness. Perhaps the problem is projection. Halogen and HID both use reflectors, whether full sized or in the form of a projector beam, but from what I've seen LED headlights don't have any reflectors. So yes, the diodes themselves might illuminate extremely bright, but the light isn't getting to the road surface all that well without the help of reflectors
