galtyyy Says:
Nov 4, 2011 - Ha! The reporter is unable to get Chomsky to say the controversial sound byte she so clearly wants from him: "Barack Obama is the most dangerous person in the world."
anarchosolar Says:
Nov 7, 2011 - Smart Arabs NEED to leave the OIL IN THE GROUND and develop their massive SOLAR and WINDpotential. OIL is the currency of tyranny and pollution SOLAR is the currency of democracy and a better life on earth!
AKAericblair Says:
Nov 7, 2011 - @26libertarian Whenever he refers to Obama, or Bush, he does not mean an individual person. He means the administration. Actually, whenever Chomsky is asked about Bush, the actual president, he points out Bush is merely a public relations figure who talks like an idiot on purpose, and moreover, is not an architect of any particular policy. That a specific character can be characterized as the world's most dangerous person is ridiculous as power is never distributed that way.
AKAericblair Says:
Nov 7, 2011 - Haha, I thought he would say the opposite and point to Obama as a symbolic figure who is a face to direct criticism.
galtyyy Says:
Nov 9, 2011 - @26libertarian My guess is that he didn't want his answer to be so controversial that people would miss his larger point on why power is dangerous when concentrated near the top.
Arkinight Says:
Nov 9, 2011 - @26libertarian Because Obama was put in the White House by Goldman Sachs - among others - and he takes his orders from financial institutions and concentrations of wealth and power; he doesn't decide very much on his own so it's just wrong to say he is the most powerful. David and Charles Koch would probably be more accurately described as the most powerful, although Chomsky's answer about the system is far more accurate.
