Dec 23, 2011 - but how about when the amount that has the decimal is the percentage? for example 8.25 out of 49.99? Could you help me with this one?
tbed63 Says:
Dec 23, 2011 - I think your problem is 8.25% of 49.99. This is done the same way. Always move the decimal point over two spots to the left in the percent. So 8.25% becomes .0825 and then multiply that by 49.99. That's quite a multiplication problem. Hopefully you're allowed to use a calculator. ;)

Mar 4, 2012 - Your comment is quite harsh, though I agree with your critique. That's why I made another tutorial on the same concept...for which there is a link on the screen at the beginning of the video. Just watch that video instead. Try to remember that there are real people who are on the other end of your comments and when you are rude, it can hurt.

Mar 7, 2012 - what about, 45 is what % of 36
tbed63 Says:
Mar 7, 2012 - That's a different concept. I will make a video on that shortly. Basically you just take the first number as a numerator and the of ___ number as the denominator. Then treat it as a division problem. Move the decimal over to the right 2 places in the quotient and you have your percent. In your example, 45/36 = 45 divided by 36 which is 1.25 so it's 125%.

May 1, 2012 - show me how to do 2.4 percent of 6728
tbed63 Says:
May 1, 2012 - 2.4...move the decimal two places to the left. So that's .024. Multiply that times 6728. Make sure you move the decimal over three places in your answer.
