Remembering everything would be quite a useless function for an elephant in the way of evolution, remember a lot would not be so useless. Once you've seen the diverse paintings of these elephants you'll understand that it's far more than monkeys. Don't worry though, you're not racist, just a specieist.

FYI: Elephants use their trunks to tear up food & place it in their mouths. They have "finger-like" protections at the tip that can grab a strain of grass. So no, it's not "abuse" for them to pick up a fucking paint brush.
