Dec 4, 2011 - you can play whatever you want... i heard someone say once that the blues doesn't necessarily just happen when you're playing the minor and major pentatonic scales, it's when you venture outside of them that makes meaningful blues.

alteregoash Says:

Dec 14, 2011 - it's all about the off notes. Staying pentatonic is what is colloquially known as "white blues"

Jan 31, 2012 - There are many ways tof playing hrough blues changes. One is to use the Minor 7/11 pentatonic scale also the major 6/9 pentatonic. You can alternate back and forth. You can can play 7th arpeggio's and extensions (9,11,13) and use different voicings of the chords for riffs and chord solo's. There are double stops thirds and 6ths (4th and 5ths) .You can add chromatic tones to the arpegio's or pentatonic scales. You can use major modes and altered scales ( diminished whole tone half tone)

Mar 5, 2012 - Over which chords should i change from minor to major or major to minor?

MarshallWillanholli Says:

Mar 17, 2012 - in a I IV V all the notes pretty much fit so let your ear be your guide experiment :)

RisingPowerful Says:

Apr 8, 2012 - Everyones technical box numbered dorian doohickies are making my head spin. Just play what you feel. :P

MrLino Says:

Apr 16, 2012 - Exactly as Marshall said, but if you want a start, try playing minor over all the chords and adding some major on the root chord (A). Since this switching would be really tiring (and break the feeling of the thing), just try adding some major notes over the minor scale on the A.
