Nov 8, 2011 - I thought that myself. I love the variety of people.

Dec 27, 2011 - the younger generation is definitely focusing more on the lead/follow dynamic and less on gender. Most places I've danced people engage in the game "pass the penis" where the two dancers of any gender switch off leading and following down the line.

Dec 31, 2011 - Most dances are called as men/women or ladies/gents, but the only real difference is who ends the swing. At least where I dance in New England, It's very common for people to dance with someone of the same gender or to dance reverse roles. Some experienced dancers will even switch roles continuously through the dance just for the extra challenge/fun of it. There are also regular contra dance series that are advertised as "gender-free" where arm bands are used to designate the roles.

Apr 7, 2012 - It's NOT old folk dancing! IT the most fun dance I've done, and it's ALWAYS been in existence.l The problem is that you've been in the U.S> cities TOO long, with their horrendous Black hip hop and blatant grinding of the gebnitals!
DustinTJ1 Says:
Apr 14, 2012 - The blond in the white shirt has got an ass on her. I'd hit hit for sure!

Apr 22, 2012 - The similarities are mostly superficial. Square dancers often dance with the same partner for the entire evening, contra dancers do not. Contra dancers are younger on average and are decidedly more energetic than a square dance crowd. Square dancers often wear specific outfits, contra dancers don't. Square dances usually have recorded music, contra dances almost never do. Becoming an accomplished square dancer requires months of lessons; learning to contra takes 30 minutes.

Jul 28, 2011 - I'm assuming the person filming knew the girl in the white shirt. Even if not, thanks for following the best lookin butt in there haha oh and it looks like it's just a more complex version of square dancing.
