Mar 30, 2012 - Java has a lot more going for it though than Ruby, Java has Eclipse and with Eclipse you can do all sorts of good shit, Take game development for example in Java you can programme things into the game while having the game open. There's a lot more but that is the most amazing and useful one in Eclipse you can also navigate in Java a lot easier. Ruby is not bad for a starter programming language and Python is good as well. Just Java and c++ <(Dying) is the most used.

May 1, 2012 - lol, Notch writing minecraft in java does not mean that games are switching to Java. Java is great for cross platform apps, but it's slow and inefficient. For large programs c++ is still the leading language, and for smaller programs some scripting languages are used more than Java. Java really isn't a great language. Also, Eclipse is just an IDE, and you can program C++, Ruby, PHP, and more in Eclipse. However, real programmers use vim.

May 11, 2012 - I like vi alot, but I use notepad++ and Eclipse too. My cousin actually has a couple lines of code in the Eclipse program. She's a software engineer for IBM :)
