Dec 24, 2011 - Amazing, thank you! Quick question though10:40, you say the sympathetic trunks arise from T1-L2/L3, then you say sympathetic trunks again extend from cervical vertebral column to pre-sacral area. Is one of then parasympathetic? Thanks
xamandaxgatewayx Says:
Dec 24, 2011 - ok the T1-L2/L3 are nerve roots and the other ones the sympathetic trunks right? ive just re-watched it and i think that what you said :)

Dec 24, 2011 - Sorry about the confusion. Here it is:1) Sympathetic TRUNKS extend all the way from cervical vertebral column, down to the sacral (pre-sacral) area.HOWEVER!The NERVE ROOTS (from Spinal cord) giving RISE to these sympath trunks arise ONLY from levels T1-L2/L3.I think there is slight 'editing' problem at 10:40 that has caused the confusion. Apologies for that. Feel free to ask questions please."To teach is to learn twice"(French moralist and essayist, Joseph Joubert):-)

Dec 25, 2011 - The PARASYMPATHETIC trunks, DO NOT extend all along the length of the vertebral column. It is ONLY the sympathetic trunks (bilateral) that extend along the length of the vertebral column.
