Nov 16, 2011 - Thank you again for the videoI had not yet finished and I would just add that I also agree to "deermilk" in his commentary of 2009Son House out of its capacity to touch the listener has a sense of timing. His stage presence can not leave indiférérent.French text translated by Google

Feb 5, 2012 - i think you're gettin' lost man! I used to think like you, i thought there was no great music nowadays. But i opened my eyes, and you should do the same. Really, there are tons of amazing artists and bands today! Often, they're not the ones we hear on the radio, of course, but they're present, believe me! Cloud Nothings, Bombay Bicycle Club, First Aid Kit, Fleet Foxes, Of Montreal, Errors, Kurt Vile, The Hold Steady, Tame Impala, The Jim Jones Revue, Bon Iver, WU LYF,...

Feb 14, 2012 - does anybody know the year of this film? I know the National guitar wasnt developed till 1927. And Son was a big inspiration to Robert Johnson, so I believe this was filmed in the early Thirties?
fallspeed Says:
Feb 17, 2012 - All the film clips of Son House date from c1964 to 1970, during his comeback period.

May 1, 2012 - I am 58 years old and have been listening to music since I used to break into my older brother' room to listen to his Victrola in 1958... This is my favorite tune of all time...No contest...One of my greatest regrets is that I never saw House in person..Maybe when I meet up with Robert Johnson someday House will be there too..

May 3, 2012 - So good... Pure feel.
BillBrasky2 Says:
May 4, 2012 - What does that even mean? Son House was never considered popular music if that's what you're insinuating. If not, given the artists that you've named, are you suggesting that black culture has evolved for the worse? If so, give me a fucking break. Do you even know what hip hop is? Both of these top comments are the definition of ignorant. I don't hate either of you. I just wish you, and a whole lot of other people, would do some research before making blanket statements such as these. Peace

May 4, 2012 - "I said farewell honey / I'll see ya judgment day"Chills. Absolute chills. This is such an enormously powerful song. Listening to this makes me forget that bad music even exists.

May 5, 2012 - Calm yourself, bud. How about this - I'll remove Lil Wayne and substitute Nickleback, N*Sync, Korn, Slipknot, Toby Keith, and/or Green Day. All of them (and don't get hypersensitive if I'm mistaken, because I'm going off memory here) are white. And they all suck. I know what hip hop is, and yes, there is good hip hop. There was probably a Lil Wayne song on the radio when I made that comment, which is why I used his name. He (and people like him, whether white, black, etc.) is ruining music
tf1985 Says:
May 5, 2012 - You can't write songs about the crap he puts on the radio and ask people to respect you for your artistic ability and emotional integrity. I'm sorry if it offends you, but a song about licking the rapper doesn't convey the same honest, emotional rawness that these old blues singers could do with a song about their hardships.
BillBrasky2 Says:
May 6, 2012 - You seem like a smart enough guy to know that there are great examples of music in all genres--dare I say, even pop. I just find it funny that the most common comment is 'music like this is so much better than modern music x.' If you have a problem with radio (modern) music-- and, I disagree; radio is becoming better because people are listening to their iPods instead; hence, radio has to compete by tending to niche markets--listen to the underground: for example Big L - All Black. That's real.
ShimmyDigg Says:
May 7, 2012 - theres a big gap there.
tf1985 Says:
May 8, 2012 - Well put. I have also noticed some changes in radio in the past few years - I'm starting to hear more indie music and more stations showcasing that underground music. I'm not a fan of corporate-driven music machines because the music turns out to be just a mechanism in a franchise. A song should be a statement, something personal and real, and guys like Son House knew that. I'll check out Big L and I'm sure it'll be worthwhile.

May 8, 2012 - Let's see the kids these days try to play this on guitar hero eh. This a lesson on strumming with no pick I tell ya.

May 9, 2012 - I pretty much LOVE you. a.) for breakin into your brothers room to listen to music (I used to do this to my Uncle George when he lived with us, to play his Bass guitar and listen to his David Bowie records)b.) for posting this on websites that are usually perused by the Rap and Pop crowdKeep the blues coming friends!
SuperCragster Says:

Nov 16, 2011 - I had not finished and about this I read somewhere that "Death Letter" is considered one of the most anguished laments stunning and emotionally in the work of the Delta bluesFrench text translated by Google
