At least Ralph is honest with Meggie stating they can have hot sex for a brief time, but they have to face he can never have a loving relationsship with her. Of course, if she divorced Luke, he could have left the priesthood and married her, but that is not the plot of this story.

Jan 19, 2012 - Watching RC act in love scenes like this, it is hard to believe he is gay, maybe he dated women too for awhile. he had to learn to kiss a women like that somewhere, besides good acting. he stated Rachel glow came form the fact she was in love with her bf Bryan.

Jan 27, 2012 - I noticed the usage of white clothes too. I took one course on movies in college. The white suit on the beach symbolizes his so called purity before he breaking his chasity vows. What do the white clothes they wear before parting on the island represent? Their loss innocence, their sin of adultery. Funny Father Ralph has no guilt in sleeping with a married women. I guess because Luke is a jerk.

Even Ralph tried to talk sense into him when he was working in the fields. Ralph must have had restless nights at the rectory after their fling. Poor insecure Meggie, she thought Ralph would leave after their first night out of shame for breaking his chasity vow.
