armpitpuncher Says:

Nov 17, 2010 - "Real programmers" use the best tools available.

Anonymesse Says:

Dec 2, 2010 - Hmm, do not know if want.

Toksyuryel Says:

Dec 19, 2010 - Make one of these for Python please.

Dessimat0r Says:

Dec 30, 2010 - This is nice, but would be better if it was coded in Java so it is portable along with Eclipse (rather than needing .NET). You could use Swing and Graphics2D, and it'd be perfectly performant.

geertjohan Says:

Jan 2, 2011 - @Dessimat0r I've heard that the .NET has been replaced with java so that it is portable and can be pluged in into any eclipse instance. However, it has been a long time without any (public visible) progress on this project... I'm starting to fear that it has been purchased by some stupid commercial company :s

videohoersaal Says:

Jan 20, 2011 - I want this for Actionscript

jakerman999 Says:

Mar 19, 2011 - even using the best tools available, they still code in fortran.

armpitpuncher Says:

Mar 19, 2011 - Huh? Who uses Fortran? I've never met anybody who does.

jakerman999 Says:

Mar 21, 2011 - Run a google search for "Real Programmers".

BlackBulletIV Says:

Jul 18, 2011 - Wow, incredibly innovative and unique.

dancingplatypus Says:

Jul 21, 2011 - More!!

Hobyx Says:

Jul 28, 2011 - I'm impressed

Magnetohydrodynamics Says:

Aug 8, 2011 - This is all fine, and works well, but does not fix the fact that Java is inherently anti-productive.Haskell is almost as fast and 100 times more expressive and easier to maintain.

derrickccoetzee Says:

Nov 16, 2011 - @geertjohan They've got a Visual Studio plug-in now, and say there's going to be a Code Bubble Beta soon! Google up the Code Bubbles page at Andrew Bragdon's site.

derrickccoetzee Says:

Nov 16, 2011 - @lkartaltepe Check out the original paper - for really long methods they automatically collapse sections of code until it fits in the bubble (vertical elision). If you expand a bunch of them and make the bubble too big, it eventually gets a vertical scrollbar.

derrickccoetzee Says:

Nov 16, 2011 - @moozax You asked "Looks cool... but is it actually sensible?" The paper has an evaluation section that shows people debugging problems significantly faster using it.

fbudinichd Says:

Dec 3, 2011 - It does not help your argument the fact that this whole frontend is wrote in Js.

emilee2u Says:

Dec 8, 2011 - Certainly not impressed. When bubble bursts then what?

Magnetohydrodynamics Says:

Dec 13, 2011 - Anything that is not Java helps against Java. Except C++. C++ is actually worse. And the only reason Java and C++ are still used is Bereaucratic Interia. They have _no_ merits that isn't bested by another language except sheer usage.Just because everybody is doing it doesn't make it smart.

fbudinichd Says:

Dec 14, 2011 - I know mate, but I would really like to see an implementation that motivates me to do something with it. After all, the fact that everyone is using something, makes it easier to troubleshoot your issues. I would gladly drop any tech if I get to see an advantage so big that it makes me forget the lack of support.

fbudinichd Says:

Jan 14, 2012 - show me something then, I already told you. If it's better i'll just use it instead and overcome the fact that there is no community around it. Now i'm left wondering if you are a chatbot coded in haskell...

shurcooL Says:

Feb 25, 2012 - Very nice. I was about to work on something similar. Now I have to reconsider my situation. I'm just happy this idea is catching on. It's time to move on from standard plain text files for source code that are hard to navigate...

stavalfi Says:

Mar 15, 2012 - this is amazing. hope for it to be come true

NNOTM Says:

Mar 24, 2012 - Thanks. I didn't know Haskell before.
