May 10, 2012 - This wasn't directed by Wes, it was directed by Richard Ayoade, who made the film "Submarine" and several other music videos. Both Wes and Richard were heavily inspired by the French "New Wave" scene of the '60s which is why it's so easy to compare their body of works, though Wes tends to fill his movies with layers of deadpan sarcasm and quirky characters, and Richard's debut movie "Submarine" was more down-to-earth and dealt with heavier subject matter. Both are brilliant badasses.
